1976年東京生まれ。アウトドアメーカー、デザイン事務所勤務を経てフリーランスのデザイナー・イラストレーターとして独立。2012年より宮崎へ拠点を移し、商業デザインとイラストレーションの仕事と並行しながら、独自のファインアート作品の制作を続けています。

【作品について】

2026年より、様々な形に切り出したベニア板を支持体に、和紙やメディウム、古布などをコラージュし、焼絵（Wood burning/Pyrography）・水彩・顔料・オイルパステルなどを重ね合わせた半立体作品の連作をスタートしました。

本サイトでは、最新の作品シリーズ『Fables in Relief — レリーフの中のものがたり』をはじめ、そこから派生するオリジナルのイラストレーションやドローイングを1点ずつご紹介しています。

burning pen（電熱ペン）で木を焦がして生まれる「こげ茶の凹面」と、和紙やメディウムの重なりに顔料を施した「色彩の凸面」。この凹凸のコントラストが織りなす＜陰と陽＞の静かな世界観を、絵本をめくるようにお楽しみいただければ幸いです。

Tomomichi Suzuki was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1976. After working for an outdoor gear manufacturer and a design studio, he established himself as a freelance designer and illustrator. In 2012, he relocated his base to Miyazaki, where he creates mixed-media art pieces alongside his graphic design and illustration work.

[About the Artwork]

In 2026, Tomomichi Suzuki launched a new series of semi-relief works. Utilizing uniquely custom-cut plywood as a base, he creates layered textures by collaging Japanese washi paper, mediums, and vintage cloth, finishing each piece with pyrography (wood burning), watercolors, pigments, and oil pastels.

This website showcases each artwork from his latest series, “Fables in Relief,” along with derivative original illustrations and drawings.

The dark brown recessed surfaces (yin) etched by scorching the wood with a pyrography pen contrast beautifully with the raised, vibrantly colored surfaces (yang) built up with washi paper and mediums. We hope you enjoy this quiet world of light and shadow born from tactile contrasts.
